- About PRO
Just days after the MLS SuperDraft, the Professional Referee Organization has revealed their new look structure for the 2013 season, and beyond.
General Manager Peter Walton has appointed former MLS referee Michael Kennedy as PRO's first Referee Manager. He is joined in the management team by Paul Rejer, who worked for the Professional Game Match Officials in England for nine years and has joined PRO as Training and Development Manager.
They will be supported by a new Sports Scientist, Matthew Hawkey, who will be responsible for overseeing the strength, fitness and injury prevention program for the officials.
Executive Assistant Sarah Bettison and Finance Manager John Loder will provide the administrative expertise to run the business alongside Walton.
Travel Assignment Coordinator Alan Brown and Sandra Serafini, the new Women's Referee Coach, have joined the newly formed organization and will hold positions similar to their previous roles with US Soccer.
Sandra will work on the development side of PRO alongside 12 new Referee Coaches, and a team of assessors, all of which will come under Paul Rejer's direction.
On the refereeing side, Alan Brown, the first person to be recruited by PRO, will support Michael Kennedy and the 21 professional referees. In addition there will be 46 assistant referees and 10 fourth officials. The identities of which will be announced later in February.
