Image: AR James Conlee in action – he has the flag for Colorado Rapids v Philadelphia Union in week 13
Orlando City versus Philadelphia Union was the opening game of Week 13, where Sorin Stoica continued his return from injury in the center.
The action continues on Friday night when Sporting Kansas City host D.C. United, and it's Irishman Alan Kelly who has the whistle for that one.
It's an all-star cast at Children's Mercy Park, where the MLS Referee of the Year will be joined by the vastly-experienced Frank Anderson, and Eric Weisbrod – who was AR in the USL Final and fifth official in the NASL Championship game last term. Just for good measure, 2015's MLS Cup fourth official, Chris Penso, completes the crew.
On Saturday, Drew Fischer and Baldomero Toledo are on duty in Canada, where Vancouver Whitecaps take on Houston Dynamo prior to Montreal Impact's clash with LA Galaxy.
Kermit Quisenberry is on AR duty for the latter, recovering from the injury which led to Kevin Terry Jr taking the flag in his last outing – and that's the focus of PRO's latest Play of the Week.
Major League Soccer's other Canadian team, Toronto FC, face a trip to New York Red Bulls who will be in buoyant mood after last week's derby success, and Allen Chapman referees that one.
There's a third assignment of the season for Dave Gantar, who takes charge of Columbus Crew versus Real Salt Lake, and a second for Mathieu Bourdeau – he's at Toyota Park for Chicago Fire versus Portland Timbers.
Hilario Grajeda, Fotis Bazakos and Juan Guzman complete Saturday's center referee line-up – the former overseeing Colorado Rapids against Philadelphia, a clash between the two Conference leaders.
Jorge Gonzalez will blow the last whistle of Week 13, with New York City versus Orlando being Sunday's solitary match-up. Jeff Muschik and Claudiu Badea are the two assistant referees while Rubiel Vazquez will take fourth official duties – his second assignment of the weekend.
